Baking is my passion, it’s my Zen; and from many years of homemade baking I’ve learned the products I’m baking need to come from the heart. You need to be able to be excited and enthusiastic with what you are doing that’s when you have the best results. Baking has always been and will continue to be my safe place. There’s just something about being a traditional baker that has me captivated and I guess I’m doing something right because my customers keep coming back. When you are stressed or angry and try to do a job it normally doesn’t come out right and people can tell. Well same goes for baking, your attitude can show through your finished products. If you are stressed or something just isn’t going your way most of the time finish products don’t turn out how they should. Cakes look sloppy, sugar cookie decorations don’t look their best or pie crusts don’t turn out right. You might even forget an ingredient if your mind isn’t in the right place and when making homemade products it is a lot of work to start over. So, it’s best if you are in the right mind set when you are baking. It brings me joy and warms my heart when I see the look of happiness on a customer’s face when they receive their product or when I get such positive feedback. So, when I bake everything I make sure it’s “made with love”.
